Aahana stood tall on the plains. Today, she was a junior spotter! The wildebeest migration was beginning. "Look! There they go!" she shouted, pointing at the big, strong herd. Aahana's heart raced with excitement.

The sun climbed higher as they walked for days. Aahana found a little calf named Kito. Kito had a soft, fuzzy nose and wobbly legs. "Don’t worry, Kito. I will look after you!" Aahana promised.

One morning, they came to a wide, rushing river. Kito froze. The water looked so deep and scary. "I’m here, Kito!" Aahana said with a big smile. "Let’s go together!"

Aahana held Kito’s hoof gently. Together, they stepped into the water. Splash! Splash! With each step, Kito felt braver. Aahana crooned, "You’re doing great! Just a little more!"

On the other side of the river, taller grass awaited. But suddenly, shadows loomed behind them! Predators were lurking on the bank! Aahana gasped, and the herd bunched up tighter.

The big wildebeests formed a circle around Aahana and Kito. "Stay close!" a wise old wildebeest said. Aahana felt safe knowing the herd was together. It was better to stick together!

As the sun began to set, the predators moved away. Aahana and Kito took a deep breath. They were safe! The herd started marching again, strong and confident.

Days passed with Aahana watching over Kito. They shared laughter and cheers. Aahana sang silly songs, and Kito would try to dance. "You’re the best calf ever!" Aahana giggled.

Finally, they reached lush green grazing lands. The grass swayed gently in the breeze, and flowers bloomed everywhere. Aahana took a deep breath. It smelled so sweet!

Kito jumped forward, his little legs kicking up dirt. Other calves joined him, nuzzling and playing. Aahana laughed as Kito rolled in the soft grass. "Look at you go!"
