Aaji’s home was a riot of colors, with marigold flowers hanging everywhere. "Come, Shreya!" Aaji called, her warm smile inviting. "Do you know why we celebrate Diwali?" Shreya shook her head, eager to learn more.

Aaji settled into her comfortable chair, her eyes twinkling. "Diwali means ‘row of lamps’. We light them to welcome happiness and to drive away darkness, just like the victory of good over evil. Isn’t that a lovely thought?"

Shreya imagined rows of glowing lamps lighting up the night sky. "But how do you prepare for it, Aaji?" she asked, curiosity bubbling in her voice. Aaji chuckled and said, "It starts with cleaning our homes and hearts, dear one!"

With her heart full of anticipation, Shreya spent the day helping Aaji. They swept, dusted, and decorated with colorful rangoli patterns made from rice flour. “Each pattern tells a story,” Aaji explained proudly. Shreya felt the joy of teamwork grow.

As night fell, the aroma of Aaji’s famous sweets filled the air. "What's your favorite treat for Diwali?" Shreya asked. "Gulab jamun, of course!" Aaji laughed. They each took a bite, and the sweetness danced on their tongues like laughter in the air.

Excited, Shreya grabbed Aaji’s hand. “Let’s go to the temple!” Together, they headed toward the glow, the soft sound of bells ringing gently in the background. Aaji whispered, “Let’s take a moment to appreciate all that we have.”
