Shreya woke up bright and early, her heart racing with excitement. Today was the day! She was going to the zoo with her fluffy dog, Tomy. She packed snacks, grabbed her hat, and made sure Tomy had his leash ready. 'Let's go, Tomy!' she said with a grin.

The moment they arrived, the zoo buzzed with life. Shreya and Tomy entered through the big gates, where colorful banners waved in the breeze. Shreya pulled out a map and pointed to their first destination. 'Let's visit the elephants!'

As they approached the elephant enclosure, Shreya gasped in awe. The majestic elephants trumpeted and flapped their huge ears. 'Did you know,' Shreya whispered to Tomy, 'that elephants can recognize themselves in mirrors? They're very smart!'

Tomy watched wide-eyed, and as one elephant leaned down, he couldn't help but bark. The elephant, curious and playful, flapped its ears in response. Shreya chuckled, 'Look, Tomy, they're talking back!'

Next, they strolled over to the lion's den. Shreya admired the golden fur and powerful roars. 'Lions are the kings of the jungle!' she exclaimed. Tomy tilted his head as if he understood, his tail wagging with excitement.

Just then, a zookeeper stepped over with a mischievous grin. 'Want to watch me feed the lions?' he asked. Shreya nodded enthusiastically, and she and Tomy got a front-row seat to lunch!

As the zookeeper tossed in chunks of meat, the lions pounced and devoured their meal with mighty roars. 'Wow!' said Shreya, 'They look so strong. I wonder if they play like we do?'

Feeling adventurous, Shreya and Tomy headed to the monkey house next. Monkeys swung from branches, chattering and playing. 'Look at them go!' Shreya laughed, trying to mimic their silly sounds.

Tomy barked and jumped around, encouraging the monkeys to be even sillier. Suddenly, one little monkey swung down and made a funny face at Tomy, which made Shreya burst into giggles.

After spending time with the monkeys, they wandered to see the giraffes. Shreya was fascinated by their long necks. 'They can reach high branches that other animals can’t!' she told Tomy, who stared up in awe.

As they watched, one giraffe leaned down to sniff Tomy curiously. Tomy sniffed back, tail wagging. 'I think they could be friends!' Shreya said, smiling at their new connection.

Then, they wandered to the flamingo pond. The bright pink birds stood gracefully on one leg. But when they reached the flamingo pond, Tomy barked at the floating pink birds, only to have one tilt its head and mimic his bark!

Shreya gasped in delight, 'Wow, Tomy! I didn’t know they could mimic sounds!' It was a surprising moment that made them both laugh hard. The day was turning out to be unforgettable!
